Jennifer Mireau is a graduate of Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors of Arts in Music as well as an Arizona teaching credential for instrumental music education kindergarten through twelfth grade.
At NAU, Mrs. Mireau studied flute with Phil Swanson and performed in various ensembles such as the Concert Band, Flute Ensemble, various Woodwind Ensembles, and the Lumberjack Marching Band. While a member of the Marching Band, Mrs. Mireau played piccolo and trumpet, and was also drum major for two years.
Mrs. Mireau has been teaching high school since 1998. Her career began as the Director of Bands at Shadow Mountain High School in the Paradise Valley Unified School District. After six years Mrs. Mireau moved to Chaparral High School where she has built a highly acclaimed music program. The Chaparral High School Firebird Marching Band, Concert Band, and Jazz Band have been consistent recipients of outstanding awards and winners of competitions and music festivals throughout the southwest United States.
Mrs. Mireau is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota (International Music Fraternity), AMEA (Arizona Music Educators Association), ABODA (Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors Association), and WBA (Western Band Association).
Mrs. Mireau is also listed in Who’s Who Among American Women and Who’s Who in America. Mrs. Mireau is married to musician Sean Mireau and is a proud mother of two boys who attend Chaparral, Marcus c/o 2025 and Christopher c/o 2028.
